Updates from PCEF Uganda & Merry Christmas 2024

Dear our Supporters and Friends,

We would like to wish you a Merry Christmas, at the same time we would like  to inform you about some of our achievements and news this month;

that we reached out to 712 children and adults with clothes and shoes this December; many thanks to Shelby Y, Natalie G, PJ and Haidee W for giving lasting smiles in the hearts of the vulnerable people. We continue to distribute clothes and shoes to different villages till the new year.

We have also built 3 roomed teacher housing for Portland High School, at roofing level; many thanks to Jeremiah B, Jonathon C, Kelly S, Natasha S, Citizen S, Sumru E for your generous support that has helped us raise this project this far.

We will share more about this project in our January 2025 newsletter.

A kind reminder:

January will soon be here when we host our annual Children’s party, a tradition which has been on-going for 9 years. We prepare food for 400 – 1000 children and provide  entertainment, candies, balloons and cheerful games for them. This has been a special event as children are always left hungry and or are sent away to  “adult parties”. We make January (the dry and hard month) a special month for them.

We would like to host 500 children in Buwenda village and 500 children in Amor  on January 12 and January 19 respectively. This project  will cost USD $5,479.45 for both communities.We will greatly appreciate your support to make this project a success.

Obituary:

We received sad news about the death of Rick Sapio, Wednesday December 18. Rick died of pancreatic cancer. I met Rick at the Gathering of Titans (GOT) in Boston Massachusetts in April this year. He was one of who championed a fundraiser in the GOT conference for our work that has led to Titan Schools and the Canadian funded project which currently sponsors 173 students, feeding 401 students among other activities. Rick was a humble man, goofy and wise! Since April, Rick and I have constantly been in touch via zoom calls. Watching him talk about his experience with cancer here may enlighten you; https://youtu.be/g4cQGEv3IrA?si=fVGzMXd16LTBI6ut

Let us keep his family in our prayers and thoughts. Let us also pray for sick people and those with heavy hearts this season.

May Rick’s soul rest in eternal peace.

On Sunday December 22 PCEF celebrated the 12th anniversary since its inception. This is our official celebration day for the past 12 years. It is characterized by gift exchanges among students and their parents. It is a fun day for all our beneficiaries.

Allow me to wish you a Merry Christmas! Thank you for taking time to read from us.
