Over the last two months, 81 people generously donated $7,100 to our IndieGogo campaign to finish Phase 1 of construction on the Amor Village Library. The following is a message posted on Facebook by Joana Dias, one of our wonderful mentors who was the driving force behind the campaign.
Our campaign is now over! Running this campaign for the last 2 months was absolutely fantastic and one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done in my life. We managed to raise 61% of the target funding, i.e. $7100, and the library construction will soon resume. Other ideas will for sure come up to raise the rest of the money. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who shared (sometimes even more than once) our campaign with friends and family. I can also not THANK enough every one of you who believed in this project and donated for this cause! And last but not least, a warm THANK YOU to the people without whom this campaign would have not existed: Lindsey and Ted Copeland, Tracy Leigh Rogers, Julie Collura, Shelby Young, and, of course, Beatrice Achieng Nas for being such an amazing woman and a source of inspiration every day, for all the strength and continued support towards this campaign. A nossa campanha chegou ao fim! Estar à frente desta campanha durante os últimos 2 meses foi absolutamente fantástico e uma das coisas mais recompensadoras que alguma vez fiz. Conseguimos juntar 61% dos fundos necessários, i.e. $7100 e a construção da Biblioteca vai em breve ser retomada. Outras ideias irão com certeza surgir para juntar o dinheiro que falta. Um enorme OBRIGADA a todos vocês que partilharem (por vezes até mais do que uma vez) a nossa campanha com família e amigos. Também não tenho palavras para AGRADECER a cada um de vocês que acreditou neste projeto e doou por esta causa.
